Stock & Fleet Management

Learn how Ply organizes your inventory across fixed warehouse locations and mobile truck stock; and how each one supports your team's workflow from the warehouse floor to the field.

Stock Tab: Warehouses VS Trucks

Managing materials efficiently is key to keeping your operations running smoothly. Ply allows you to transfer materials between different locations with ease.

Transferring Materials

There are four ways to load materials onto a truck in Ply. This guide walks you through each one and helps you pick the right option for your situation.

What's the Best Way to Add Items to My Trucks?

Move materials between locations, assign them to jobs, or correct quantities directly from the app, no barcode required.

How to Transfer or Adjust Quantities Without Scanning a Barcode

Give materials a home base before they leave the warehouse and make sure nobody else picks them up first.

Staging Area / On-Hold Materials

Ply gives you two ways to move inventory, each built for a different kind of operation. Here's how to know which one to reach for.

Regular Transfers vs. Pick Lists

Update quantities, min/max thresholds, barcodes, and positions across an entire location at once; by downloading a spreadsheet, editing it, and uploading it back.

Rolling Replenishment

Field Requests let techs flag what their truck needs; and give managers a clean workflow to order or restock those items without any back-and-forth.

How to Use Field Requests for Truck Inventory and Replenishment

Techs text or call a Ply phone number to request materials. The AI processes the message and creates a Field Request instantly: no app, no login, no friction.
