What is Offline Mode?
Offline Mode lets you keep working in Ply even when you lose internet connection. Once activated, you can:
Browse locations, materials, and VMI inventory
Scan barcodes and update quantities
Create purchase orders
Transfer materials between locations and jobs
Search your materials catalog
Everything you do offline is stored locally on your device, and syncs automatically to your Ply account as soon as you're back online.
How to Enable Offline Mode
There's no toggle to turn Offline Mode on globally. Instead, you enable it per location by downloading that location's stock list to your device before you lose signal.
To download a location's stock list:
Open the Ply mobile app while you still have internet connection.
Navigate to the location you'll be working from (Warehouse or Truck).
Tap the download icon located near the top of the stock list, right below the battery bar.
Once you tap it, Ply will confirm that all materials in that location are synced to your device.
That's it , you're now ready to work offline for that specific location.

How Transactions Work Offline
Once you've lost signal and start making transactions in a location where you've downloaded the stock list, here's what to expect:
Scan or select the materials you want to transfer, just like you normally would.
Choose the destination (another location or a job) and confirm the transaction.
Ply will show a soft warning letting you know you're currently offline.
After you confirm, you'll see a "Transfer Saved" message telling you that the transaction will be automatically sent once your internet connection is restored.
Once you're back online, the transactions will process automatically in the background. You don't need to do anything manually, just make sure your device reconnects to Wi-Fi or cellular data.
Important: Enable Offline Mode BEFORE Losing Signal
This is the most important thing to know: Offline Mode only works if you downloaded the location's stock list before losing signal.
If you haven't downloaded the stock list and you lose connection while trying to make a transaction, that transaction will not be saved and will not be sent automatically once you're back online. You'll need to redo it manually.
Best practice: If you're heading somewhere with poor signal (a basement, a warehouse with weak Wi-Fi, a remote job site), take a moment before you leave to download the stock list for each location you plan to work from that day. It only takes a few seconds and can save you from lost work.
Verifying Your Offline Transactions Went Through
Once you're back online, you can confirm your offline transactions synced properly:
Open the location you were working from.
Go to the Activity tab.
You'll see your offline transactions listed with their timestamps.
If a transaction is missing, double-check that:
You had downloaded the stock list before going offline
Your device has fully reconnected to the internet
You've refreshed the app
