Overview
If something looks off when you review a count's results, you don't have to confirm numbers you don't trust. Any count that's Waiting for Confirmation can be sent back for a recount. This creates a new, separate Inventory Count tagged Recount so your team can double-check before anything is finalized.
Where to Find It
Stock → Inventory Count → Waiting for confirmation column → open a count with the Pending status
Step-by-step: Creating a Recount
Step 1: Flag the items you want recounted (optional)
Open the pending count to view the Inventory Count Results.
In the results table, click the 🚩 flag icon at the end of any row you want recounted.
A banner at the top of the table shows how many items are flagged. Click Clear to remove all flags.
Click Recount [#] flagged at the bottom of the page, next to Confirm Results.
Step 2: Set up the recount
The Recounting Inventory Count page opens with the following fields:
Field | Description |
📍 Location | Locked to the location of the original count. A recount always happens in the same location. |
👤 Assign users | The team member(s) who will do the recount. |
📅 Start & End Dates | Required. This is the window to complete the recount. |
Under What to recount, select any of the groups from the original count:
Group | What it includes |
Adjusted | Items whose counted quantity differs from the quantity on record. Flagged items appear here, e.g. 4 of 8 items. |
Matched | Items whose counted quantity matched the record. Use this to double-check. |
Not counted | Items nobody entered a quantity for. |
Under Include Specific Items, you can hand-pick materials to add on top of the selected groups. Items you flagged in Step 1 already appear here as Added. Use the search, Filter, and sort options to find others, then click + Add.
Step 3: Create the recount
Check the total at the bottom of the page. Click View items to review the full list.
Click Create Recount.
The new count appears in the Upcoming column with a Recount tag, the frequency set to Once, and the status Planned. Your assignee completes it like any other count, on web or mobile.
Why This Matters
Confirming a count updates your stock levels, so a single miscounted item can throw off reorder points and job planning. Recounting lets your team catch and fix questionable numbers before they're finalized, without starting a whole new count from scratch.
FAQs

Can I recount in a different location? No. A recount always uses the same location as the count it comes from.
How do I tell a recount apart from a regular count? Recounts show a Recount tag on the count card in the Inventory Count board.
