In this guide, you'll learn how to:
Create a field request from mobile
Manage and fulfill requests from the web
Create and link purchase orders
Reconcile received items back into a location
ℹ️ What are Field Requests?
Field Requests are designed for your techs to use. Since they can’t create POs directly from the app, they can use a Field Request to add the materials they need.
The account owner or admin can then review the request and decide whether to create a PO, RFQ (Request for Quote) or a Pick List for those materials.
🛠️ Creating a Field Request (Mobile)
Open the Ply mobile app and tap the Field Requests tab in the bottom-right corner.
2. Tap the ➕ icon in the top-right corner to create a new request.
3. Select a location.
4. Choose a job if needed.
5. Hit on Add Materials - Or Scan or search for materials and add the needed quantity.
6. Set a priority, due date, and add notes.
7. Tap Confirm to send it to the back office.
Managing Requests (Web)
2. You’ll see a status filter at the top (e.g., Open, In Progress, Completed).
3. Click any request to view details, edit due dates, change status, or delete it.
4. Hover over Availability to check stock by location and decide whether to create a purchase order or picklist.
Creating a Purchase Order from a Field Request
Open the field request.
Select the items you want to order.
Click Create Purchase Order.
Fill in:
Supplier
Ship-to location
Optional: add teammates to notifications
Review and send the PO.
Once sent, it will show as “In Progress” and link back to the original request.
ℹ️ You can repeat this same process for creating a Request for Quote or a Pick List.
Receiving & Reconciling Items
After receiving the PO, go to the Purchase Orders tab.
Change the PO status to Received.
Click Reconcile, choose a location, and confirm.
Go back to the Field Request and mark it as Received to complete it.
