How It Works
Catalog Cleanup brings two tools together:
Dedupe finds materials that look like duplicates (for example, the same item entered with slightly different names) and suggests merging them.
Enhance uses AI to find missing details for your materials, like brand, description and image. It searches Ply's supplier catalogs and online sources, and shows a confidence score for each suggestion.
Nothing changes automatically. You review every suggestion and decide what to accept.

How to Get Access
There's nothing to set up on your end. Once the Enhance & Dedupe add-on is active on your account, you'll see the catalog health strip and the Manage button in your Catalog right away.
Your Catalog Health Strip
At the top of your Catalog, you'll see a strip that shows how healthy your catalog is: how many materials have no image, no brand, and how many look like duplicates (in red).
Each part of the strip is clickable:
Click No image or No brand to filter your catalog to just those materials.
Click Duplicates to review them (see below).
How to Review and Merge Duplicates (Dedupe)
In your Catalog, click Duplicates on the health strip.
You'll see the list of possible duplicates that need review. Each match shows how similar the materials are (for example, 3" Venting Bin and 3" Venting Bin, 94%).
Review each match:
If it looks right, accept the merge.
If you want to double-check which details to keep, click to edit the merge result. This opens the merge wizard, where you can choose the details for the final material.
Confirm the merge.
💡 Nothing is merged automatically. Ply only suggests matches, and you decide which ones to merge.
How to Enhance Materials in Bulk
In your Catalog, click Manage.
Choose which materials to enhance. You can filter to the ones that are incomplete (for example, missing an image or brand). You can enhance up to 100 materials per week.
Click Run. Ply searches for the missing details. This can take a little while depending on how many materials you selected.
Review the suggested enhancements. For each material, you'll see what Ply found (brand, description, image) and a confidence score for each detail.
Click into a suggestion to edit any detail before accepting it, or accept it as is.
Click Apply to save the changes to your materials.

Good to Know
Weekly scan: with the add-on, Ply automatically scans your catalog every week for new duplicates and materials that could be enhanced, so it stays clean over time.
Full catalog cleanup: bulk enhance covers up to 100 materials per week. If you'd like your whole catalog deduped and enhanced at once, that's done through a one-time catalog cleanup with our Customer Success team. Reach out to your CSM to get started.
24-hour limit: each material can only be enhanced once every 24 hours.
Common Issues
"I don't see the Manage button or the health strip." This usually means the add-on isn't active on your account yet. Reach out to your CSM or our Support team and we'll check it for you.
"A suggestion doesn't look right." You don't have to accept it. Edit the detail before applying, or skip that suggestion.
"I merged two materials by mistake." Contact Support with the material names and we'll help you sort it out.
FAQ
Will Ply change my materials without asking? No. Every merge and enhancement is a suggestion until you review and accept it.
Where does Ply find the missing details? From supplier catalogs connected to Ply and from online sources.
Can I enhance my entire catalog at once? Bulk enhance lets you enhance up to 100 materials per week. To enhance your whole catalog at once, reach out to your CSM about a one-time catalog cleanup.
