🗂️ Understanding Picklist Statuses in Ply

Picklists in Ply help your team organize and prepare materials for jobs or restocks. Each picklist has a status that reflects its current stage in the workflow. Here’s what each status means and how to use them effectively:

1. Needs Refill

  • This happens when one or more materials on the list don’t have enough stock available in the warehouse.
  • These items will be marked with an alert.
  • You’ll need to either restock those materials or choose how to handle them before completing the picklist.

What you can do:

  • Remove the low-stock items from the picklist.
  • Generate a new picklist with just the low-stock items.
  • Create a Purchase Order directly from the picklist.

2. Ready to be Assembled

All materials in the picklist have sufficient stock and are ready to be transferred or pulled.

  • This status signals that the list is cleared for fulfillment.
  • Once reviewed, it can be marked as Completed to trigger the actual transfer.

3. Waiting for Pickup

The picklist has been packed and is now waiting for the technician to pick it up from the warehouse.

Use case:

  • Often used when preparing restock kits or job-specific material bundles.
  • Acts as a "holding" step until materials leave the warehouse.

4. Completed

All materials listed in the picklist have been successfully transferred to their destination (e.g., truck or job).

Key behavior:

  • Materials are moved to the assigned location automatically when this status is set.

🗃️ Archived

This status is used for old or inactive picklists you no longer need in your active view.

What it does:

  • The picklist is removed from the main workflow views.
  • You can still access it for reference if needed.

💡 Tips

  • You can change the status of a picklist from the top-right corner of the picklist screen.

  • If you're ever unsure why a picklist is blocked, check for the “Needs Refill” alert, it’s the most common blocker!
