🏠 How To Replicate Materials From A Warehouse To A Truck Using Stock Templates

Overview

Stock Templates allow you to quickly replicate materials from one location (like a Warehouse) to another (such as a Truck) without manually adding each item. This is especially useful when setting up new trucks or standardizing inventory across locations.

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to replicate materials using Stock Templates.

Step-by-step

1. Go to the source location

Navigate to the Warehouse or Truck that you want to replicate materials from.

2. Select all materials

Select all the materials in that location. Important note: Bulk select will not work here.

To select all materials:

  • Increase the number of rows per page to the maximum

  • Select the entire page

  • Move to the next page and select again
  • Repeat this process until the entire location is selected

3. Create the Stock Template

Once all materials are selected, create a Stock Template.

During template creation select “Create new template” and set the Template name. For example “Copy of Warehouse”

During the template creation, you can:

  • Adjust quantities
  • Set or modify min / max values
  • Or copy everything exactly as-is

You can also choose to apply the template later without quantities, if you only want to replicate the material list structure.

4. Apply the template to the destination location

To apply the template:

  • Go to Stock > Templates
  • Open the template you just created
  • Bulk select all items (bulk select does work here)
  • Click Add to location

Before confirming the changes, you’ll see these optional checkboxes. Here’s what each one does:

  • Add missing materials from the template: Adds materials that are not already in the location
  • Update existing materials' location values: Applies values like aisle, bay, level, and bin from the template
  • Update existing materials' barcodes: Applies barcodes from the template
  • Apply Min/Max values from template: Adds or updates the minimum and maximum levels for each material
  • Apply Quantities from template: Adds the preset quantities stored in the template

Merge vs Override: For location values (aisle, bay, level, bin), you’ll choose how to handle any conflicts:

  • Merge with existing values: Keeps current values and fills in only what’s missing
  • Override existing values: Replaces current values in the location with the ones from the template

This setting only applies to location values. Other apply options are managed using the checkboxes above.

Tips

  • Stock Templates are reusable, so you can apply the same template to multiple locations.
  • If you’re setting up several trucks with the same materials, this is the fastest and cleanest approach.
