Ply dropped a super helpful feature to manage your materials that have serial numbers 🎉 Whether you're looking to search, transfer, or just keep track of your stuff, we’ve got you covered! Here's how you can work your way through it:
Step 1: Add Your Serialized Material 📲
- Head to your Catalog and create a brand new item.
- Give it a name and check the box for “Material Serialized.” 🔥
- Fill in some details like item number (don’t stress if it’s random for now!), cost, and location. 🏷️
- Add your serial number: This could be from the packaging, a PO, or an invoice. 📃
- If you’re on mobile (iOS/Android), you can even scan the barcode 📸
- Hit Save and boom! Your item is ready to go.
Step 2: Find Your Material in the Catalog 🔍
Once saved, head back to your Catalog. Expand your new item, and you’ll spot a cool new tab called Serial Numbers. 👀
Here, you’ll see all the serial numbers linked to your item, right at your fingertips. ✨
Step 3: Transfer It to a Job 🔄💼
- Next, let's move that item to a job! Just click Transfer Job.
- Choose an existing job (easy peasy!) and pick one of the serial numbers.
- Now it’s part of the job, ready to go!
Step 4: Check Your Job Details 📝
Head over to Jobs, find the job you transferred the item to, and scroll down. You’ll see the serial number attached right there. 🎯
Plus, the serial number will also show up on your invoices! 💸 Super handy for tracking everything.
