Hide Location Prefixes (A/B/L/B)

In Ply, each material location can include position labels: Aisle, Bay, Level, and Bin (A/B/L/B), to help organize warehouse layouts. These labels are optional and can be used if your team needs to track detailed storage positions.

ย

If your team prefers simpler numeric labels, the Hide Location Prefixes setting lets you choose how location names are displayed โ€” either with prefixes (e.g., A12) or just numbers (e.g., 12).

ย

How It Works

  • When enabled: location names include their prefixes (e.g., A12).
  • When disabled: prefixes are hidden, and only numeric labels are shown (e.g., 12).
  • This setting only changes how labels appear, it doesnโ€™t affect your internal data, IDs, or warehouse structure.
ย

How to Turn Prefixes On or Off

ย
  1. Go to Settings โ†’ Stock.
  1. Find the toggle labeled Show location prefixes.
  1. Switch it OFF to hide A/B/L/B prefixes, or ON to show them again.

When to Use It

Use this setting if:

ย
  • Your team doesnโ€™t use detailed Aisle/Bay/Level/Bin tracking and prefers simple numeric labels.
  • You want cleaner printed or mobile labels for your locations.
  • Youโ€™re standardizing location formats across multiple warehouses.

Notes

  • This change affects display only, it doesnโ€™t modify historical records or linked workflows.
  • You can toggle prefixes on or off anytime, depending on how your team prefers to view locations.
