The PT910is the recommended Ply model for high quality lament labels. It allows for a range of sizes from 10mm to 36mm (we recommend 24mm or 36mm white) and different color options to fit your bins, bays, and items. It’s by far the easiest to maintain with it’s rechargeable battery and bluetooth connectivity support.
Lets get started!
Step 1: Make sure your PT910 is charged and turned on 🟢
Once your device is charged click on the 🔋 icon. This will boot up the device and will display a green button on the top of the device.
Step 2: Unwrap your preferred tape size and insert it into the printer cavity
Lift the printer tape door to access the printer cavity to enter in the tape. Follow the instructions inside the printer.
Unwrap the tape and place it into the cavity.
As shown below this is how you are going to insert the tape so it aligns with the printer.
Push down to secure the printer tape and secure it in place.
Close the printer door once completed and turn right side up.
Step 3: Connect the PT910 to your device via your devices bluetooth settings
Go to settings > Bluetooth > select your PT series printer.
Click on the device to select and connect. The device will read: PT-P910BTxxxx
Once connected it will show a status of CONNECTED.
Step 4: Open Ply and navigate to a material to configure your printer settings to create a printer template
Click on the three dots to initiate the material action menu. You can also hard press to select multiple items to batch print to the select printer.
Once selected click on Print Barcode.
This will take you to the print preview and configuration page.
Once on the print configuration page, for the first time setting up the printer you’ll want to click Connect Printer
. Additionally, you’ll see the status of the printer listed by Printer Status.
Step 5: Select your printer from discovered printers in Ply
Now that you’re printer is connected to your devices bluetooth you need to select it within the device so the Ply app knows what to connect to. Click on ‘Tap to Discover Printers’. This will bring you to a screen to select your printer.
Your printer will show up as shown below. Click on the printer to select it if its not connected automatically.
Make sure you also select the label size that you have put into the printer cavity. This is imperative because if its incorrect the app will know the size/dimensions to print to. The tape you inserted will have the size as well.
Step 6: Configure and customize your labels
Click on the Content
tab to configure your label content. In some cases you will have to trial and error the different configurations to get it to how you want it.
- Layout: selection for the various types of sizes based on the printer. Layout 3 is the recommended size for the PT910.
- Print Orientation: the orientation the printer will print from. For the PT910 landscape is the recommended.
- Print Elements: customizable options for what attributes you want printed.
Step 7: Further settings and template save
Now that your printer is connected and barcode settings are configured click on the Barcode
tab to save the template, choose your barcode format and print.
Click print to test out the created template!
Note: you may have to adjust your settings depending on printer, paper size, and configuration.
Step 8: Printer will begin printing your barcode
Once you hit Print
the printer will receive the data and begin printing the individual barcode you created.
When you go to print additional labels your settings will be saved and you will only have to click 1 button to print.
