Where Jobs Appear in Ply
Jobs created in HouseCall Pro automatically appear in Ply under the Jobs tab (Active or Finished).
Important: Jobs created directly in Ply will not sync back to HouseCall Pro. The sync only goes one way for jobs: HCP → Ply.

Two Ways to Handle Material Deductions
Option 1: Add materials in HouseCall Pro (automatic)
When an admin/owner/technician adds materials to a job in HCP, the integration automatically deducts those quantities from your Ply inventory. No manual action needed in Ply.
Option 2: Transfer materials manually from Ply (recommended)
Create the job in HCP without adding any materials. The job will sync to Ply empty, and your team can then manually transfer materials from a location to the job inside Ply.
This option is recommended if you want to keep your team trained on Ply, it reduces dependency on HCP for inventory tracking and gives you more control.
Neither option is wrong, it depends entirely on your workflow preference.
🔧 Troubleshooting: Materials Are Deducting from the Warehouse Instead of the Truck
If you're seeing materials being pulled from a warehouse instead of a technician's truck, here's what to check.
Why Does This Happen?
Ply uses the Response Location assigned to a technician to know which truck to pull materials from. If this isn't configured correctly, the system falls back to the default warehouse.
The most common reasons this happens are:
1. No Response Location is set for the technician If the tech doesn't have a Response Location assigned in Ply, the system has no truck to reference and defaults to the warehouse.
Fix: Go to Settings → Company & Billing → Team, find the technician, and set their Response Location to their truck.

2. More than one technician is assigned to the job When multiple techs are assigned to the same job, Ply doesn't know which truck to deduct from and defaults to the warehouse.
Fix: Assign only one technician per job if you want materials to deduct from a specific truck.
3. The technician is not assigned to the job in Ply Even if the Response Location is set, the tech needs to be assigned to the job in Ply for the deduction to work correctly. Fix: Make sure the technician is assigned to the job in both HCP and Ply.
Quick Checklist to Make Sure it Works Well
- ✅ The technician has a Response Location set (their truck)
- ✅ Only one technician is assigned to the job
- ✅ The technician is assigned to the job in Ply
If all three conditions are met, materials will automatically deduct from the correct truck. 🚚
