➡️ What is Dead-Shelf Stock?
The Dead-Shelf Stock report shows materials that have been sitting in your warehouses and trucks without moving for 30, 60, or 90 days. It's a quick way to spot items tying up space and money and to decide what to return, redistribute, or stop ordering.
A material counts as dead-shelf stock when its quantity at a location hasn't changed during that period.

Go to Reports in the left-hand menu.
Select Dead-Shelf Stock.

Dead-Shelf Material Count by Date
A chart showing how many materials have been inactive over time, split into:
🟠 30 days: no quantity change in the last 30 days
🔴 60 days: no quantity change in the last 60 days
🔴 90 days: no quantity change in the last 90 days
Use the time period filter (for example, Last week) to see how dead stock is trending.

Your locations are listed with their dead-stock count at 30 / 60 / 90 days. The color-coded counters give you a quick snapshot of where dead stock is building up, so you only need to drill in when something stands out.
Location detail
Click a location to expand it and see every inactive material there, with:
Item name and item number
Category (for example, Electrical, Pipe Fittings, Valves)
Last Update date, highlighted in red so you can see how long the item has been sitting
Current quantity on hand
A search bar to find a specific material in that location

➡️ How to use it
Start with the 90-day counter. Those are the materials that have been sitting the longest.
Compare locations. If one truck has far more dead stock than the others, it's probably carrying items that don't match the work that tech usually does.
Open the location and sort through the list by Last Update date.
Decide what to do with each item: transfer it to a location where it's more likely to be used, return it to the warehouse, or lower its min/max so you stop reordering it.
Export the PDF for that location and share it with the person responsible for it.
➡️ Best practices
✅ Review it monthly. Dead stock builds up slowly, so a regular check catches it before it turns into a lot of money on a shelf.
✅ Focus on trucks first. Truck space is limited, and clearing slow items makes room for the materials your techs actually use.
✅ Adjust min/max after cleaning up. If an item keeps landing on this report, it's usually a sign its reorder levels are set too high.
➡️ Common Issues
"I see materials with 0 on hand in the report."
The report looks at whether the quantity at a location has changed, not at how much is left. A material that's been at 0 for 90 days will still show up. You can ignore those or remove them from that location if they no longer belong there.
"I need this list in Excel, not PDF."
This report exports to PDF only. For a spreadsheet, use Inventory Lens in SureStock: its Materials table has a Dead D column (days since the material last moved) and you can export everything to Excel or CSV.

What counts as "activity" for this report?
Any change in the material's quantity at that location, like a transfer, a stock adjustment, a count, or a PO being reconciled into it.
Can I see dead stock beyond 90 days?
This report goes up to 90 days. For a more detailed view, check the Dead D column in Inventory Lens, which shows the exact number of days for each material.
Does it include both warehouses and trucks?
Yes, every stock location is listed, and you can filter by location.
