Need to move an item from your catalog into a specific location? Here's how it's done:
Option 1: Select your materials individually and assign them to a truck or warehouse.
Option 2: Select the whole page of materials and assign them to a truck or warehouse.
Step-by-Step Guide
Access the Catalog and select the items you want to transfer. Use the search bar and filter option to find your materials easily.
We recommend setting the rows view to 50 or more so you can see more items per page.
If you mark the "Name" checkbox at the top, all the items on that page will be selected at once.
Once you've selected your items, click on "Other Options" and select "Add to Location."
Choose the location, add the barcode and the quantity you want to transfer, then hit "Add Materials." Done, your items will be transferred!

If you need to move materials from one location to another, here are the steps to follow:
Go to Stock and select the location you want to transfer the items from.
Select the materials you want to transfer and click the "Transfer" button.
Under "Transfer to," choose between Location, Job, or Staging (to place materials On-Hold in a Staging Area instead of moving them to another location or job, see Staging Area / On-Hold Materials in SureStock).
Choose the Location or Job you want to transfer the items to, enter the quantity per item, and click "Transfer" to finalize the process.
📌 Both transfer options are available directly within Catalog (for catalog-to-location transfers) and Stock (for location-to-location transfers).

"I selected materials on a page but not all of them transferred."
Check whether you used the top "Name" checkbox to select the entire page, or manually selected items individually. If you're moving a large batch, setting the rows view to 50+ per page and using the top checkbox is the fastest way to make sure everything on that page gets included.
"I don't see a Staging option when transferring materials."
Staging only shows up as an option under "Transfer to" when transferring between locations from Stock, not when transferring from Catalog to a location for the first time. If you need to place materials On-Hold, do it from the Stock tab.
"My transfer didn't go through."
Double-check that you entered a quantity per item and selected a valid destination (Location, Job, or Staging Area) before clicking Transfer, missing either one will block the transfer.

What's the difference between transferring from Catalog vs. from Stock?
Transferring from Catalog moves an item from your catalog into a location for the first time (catalog-to-location). Transferring from Stock moves materials that are already in a location to another location or job (location-to-location).
Can I transfer materials to a Staging Area instead of a regular location?
