Jobber + Ply: What Syncs?

Curious what data flows between Jobber and Ply, and in which direction? Here's a full breakdown.

Overview

The Jobber integration syncs jobs, materials, custom fields, and more between Jobber and Ply, most of it in real time via webhook. Several categories sync bidirectionally, meaning updates made in either platform will reflect in the other within seconds.

Stock Availability

💡 Ply does not sync custom fields (CF) to Jobber instead, CF in Jobber is used to display stock availability from Ply.

⚠️ See notes below, Quotes/Estimates sync has an important caveat.

What Doesn't Sync

The following are not currently synced between Jobber and Ply:

  • Pictures/Images

  • Categories

  • Services (pricebook services, services as invoice/quote items)

  • Purchase Orders (POs don't sync directly, but a PO number will appear in the Jobber job's notes once the PO is reconciled to the Ply job)

How It Works

Item

Details

Jobs Sync

Jobs sync instantly via webhook. Create or update in either system and changes appear within seconds.

Products

Jobber products sync to Ply materials. Create in either system with bidirectional updates.

Custom Fields

Ply syncs custom fields to Jobber. Stock availability from Ply is used to display Custom fields in Jobber.

Line Items

Ply doesn't have a "line item" entity any materials added to a Ply job will appear in the Jobber job as a line item. There's also an FSM setting to add materials to the Jobber job as expenses, disabled by default. Note: a line item added directly in Jobber without a product reference (a custom line item) will not sync to the Ply job.

Kits

Kits sync from Ply to Jobber, where they map to materials. When one of these materials is added as a line item on a Jobber job, the linked kit is added to the Ply job and deducted from the appropriate stock.

⚠️ Quotes (Estimates)

When the estimate pipeline is enabled in Ply, an approved Jobber quote will appear in the Ply estimate pipeline. Only materials synced from the Jobber quote carry over to the Ply estimate.

Expenses

Job expenses from Ply sync to Jobber. Category, amount, date, and description included.

Why This Matters

Knowing exactly what syncs and in which direction helps you understand where to make updates (Jobber vs. Ply) and troubleshoot discrepancies if something doesn't appear where you expect it.
