The Replenishment List
The Replenishment List for a location is the quickest place to check. Items that are already tied to a purchase order are marked in the list.
Go to Stock > Desired Location > Open the replenishment list
From there you'll see if an item is already tied to a PO and If that's the case, you'll see exactly which PO it's assigned to.
These are purchases that are currently in progress and haven't been reconciled into stock yet.
So before ordering, a quick look here tells you whether a part is already covered.
Filter by Purchase Order status
To make this even faster, you can filter the Replenishment List by whether items are on a purchase order or not.
Go to the Replenishment List for your location.
Open the Filters.
Choose one of the options:
Show Materials on a Purchase Order — displays only the items that are already in progress for purchasing.
Show Materials Not on a Purchase Order — displays only the items that still need to be ordered.
Click Show.
Using Show Materials Not on a Purchase Order is the easiest way to work through your ordering, since it hides everything that's already been handled and leaves you with just what actually needs to be purchased.
During PO creation
You'll also see this information while you're creating a purchase order, so if you start a PO for an item that's already on order, it will surface there as well.
Tip: If your team keeps running into duplicate orders, get everyone in the habit of filtering the Replenishment List by Materials Not on a Purchase Order before placing an order. That way you're only ever ordering what's genuinely still open.
