Account & Company Settings

Update your profile, secure your account with MFA, and configure your company's billing, branding, and domain, this article covers where to find each setting and how they connect to inviting your team.

➡️ Profile Settings

From your Profile, you can:

  • Update your profile photo and personal information

  • Change your password

  • Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

  • Add or update your phone number

Or also from the three dots in each profile:

💡 Setting up MFA takes about a minute.

Go to Settings → Profile → Multi-Factor Authentication, click Enable MFA, and follow the steps to connect an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator) by scanning the QR code and entering the 6-digit code. Save your recovery codes somewhere secure before finishing setup. See How to Set Up and Use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) in Ply for the full walkthrough, including how admins can see who on the team has MFA enabled and prompt anyone who hasn't set it up yet.

➡️ Company & Billing

From Company & Billing, you can:

  • Edit your company information

  • Upload a company logo

  • Configure account owners

  • Set up a custom domain so all communications sent to Ferguson go out under your company's domain (requires DNS access)

💡 The custom domain setting requires DNS access on your end. If you don't manage your own domain's DNS records, you'll need whoever does (often an IT provider or web host) involved in this step. it's not something that can be completed from inside Surestock alone.

➡️ Inviting New Users to you Account

This article explains how to invite new users to your account, assign the right permissions, and ensure they can access what they need.

Only users with Owner and Admin permissions can invite new users to the account.

➡️ How to Invite a New User

1. Go to Settings > Company & Billing > Team Tab

2. Click Invite User.

3. Enter the user’s email address.
4. Choose the appropriate role/permissions.

5. Click Send Invitation.

The user will receive an email with instructions to create their login and join your account. Once they accept the invite and set their password, they'll have immediate access based on the permissions you assigned.

For the complete walkthrough (with video) and a deeper look at roles and access, see Inviting New Users to your Account.

➡️ User Roles & Access

When inviting a user, make sure to select the role that best fits their responsibilities. Roles control what the user can see and do inside the account.

➡️ What the Invited User Sees

  • The user receives an email invitation.

  • They must accept the invite and set up their password.

  • Once accepted, they’ll have immediate access based on the permissions you assigned.

➡️ Best practices

Set up MFA for every admin and owner account, not just your own.

Since admins/owners have the broadest access, they're the accounts most worth protecting, and you can check who's missing it from the Team tab.

Double-check the role before sending an invite.

It's easier to assign the right permissions upfront than to walk back access after someone's already been working in the account for a while.

Confirm your business information is accurate before it starts populating documents.

Fields like Business Legal Name and address flow into POs, and other records automatically, get them right once rather than fixing them across multiple documents later.

➡️ Common issues & fixes

"A team member didn't receive their invite email."

Ask them to check spam/junk folders and confirm the email address was entered correctly. If needed, you can resend the invitation from the Users page.

"An invite expired or shows as invalid."

Resend the invitation from the Users page — this generates a fresh, valid link.

"I assigned the wrong role or used the wrong email when inviting someone."

Both can be corrected at any time by editing the user directly — you don't need to delete and re-invite them.

"I lost access to my authenticator app and can't log in."

Use one of the recovery codes you saved when you first set up MFA. If you don't have them, contact support for help regaining access.

"I want to require MFA for my whole team, not just recommend it."

From Settings → Company & Billing → Team, you (as admin/owner) can see each user's MFA status (✅ or ❌) and use the three-dot menu next to their name to send them setup instructions directly.

➡️FAQs

Do I need to click Save after entering my business information, or does it save automatically?

You need to click Save Information, there's no confirmation popup, but changes save instantly once you do.

Can more than one person be an account owner?

Yes, account owners are configurable from Company & Billing; check with your team on how many owners makes sense for your setup.

Does changing my company logo affect anything besides how it looks in the app?

It also appears on documents like POs where your branding is shown, keep the file under 2.00 MB when uploading.
