What Is Kitting and How to Use It in Ply? 📦🔧

In Ply, we’ve introduced kitting to help you bundle your materials and items effortlessly. This way, you can manage your inventory and orders with ease! 🚀

Kitting is the process of bundling multiple materials into a single package or kit for easier handling, sale, and distribution. For example, a kit might include all the parts needed to assemble a final product or a set of tools packaged together. 🛠️

This video walks you through how to create and manage Material Kits in Ply:

🛠️ Kits Now Work Just Like Individual Materials

Kits now have their own details page, just like regular materials! 📋 You can easily check associated materials, quantities, and assigned locations—all in one place. Managing and tracking Kits has never been smoother. 🚀

🆕 Create Kits Even with Zero Stock

No inventory? No problem! ❌📦 You can now set up Kits with materials that have zero stock. This lets you preconfigure standard Kits and restock them later without any extra hassle. 🔄

⚠️ Kits Automatically Go Inactive If Empty

If all materials in a Kit are removed or disabled, the Kit will automatically be marked inactive. ⛔ No more clutter—only active, usable Kits will stay visible in your inventory. ✅

🔒 Disabled Materials = Disabled in Kits

When a material is disabled in the catalog, it’ll also be disabled in any Kit it’s part of. ❌ This keeps everything consistent and ensures you’re only working with active materials. ✅

🗑️ Deleted Materials? Gone from Kits Too

If a material gets deleted from the catalog, it will be automatically removed from any Kits that included it. 🧹 No more outdated Kits—just clean, up-to-date inventory management. 📦
