Basic Navigation:
First, download the Ply app from the Google Play Store on your device, or scan the QR code below. Then, sign in to your account.
Enter the app, your home screen shows your assigned location(s). At the bottom of the screen you can access:
Locations (warehouse/truck)
Jobs
Scanner
Replenish
Activity
Tapping on your truck will bring you to your inventory. From here you can scroll through, search for a material, or open the scanner to scan a barcode.
The current inventory is shown with the following information, material name, part #, quantity, category and location.
Tapping on Jobs will bring you to your assigned Jobs. From here you can search, scroll through current open jobs, or scroll through finished jobs.
You will also see assigned Technicians, cost information and addition Job details
Tapping the Scanner will bring you to the camera view. Here you can hover your
device over a barcode and it will instantly scan.
You can also select the “A” in the top left and disable automatic mode, giving you the control to choose when to scan:
Tap the Replenish tab (Field Request) to request items that are currently low in stock. After you create a request with the items and quantities you need, the Account Owner or Admin can review it and decide whether to create a PO to order the items or a Pick List to replenish them from other locations.
Activity is where you can view all recent activity pertaining to your assigned
location(s).
This is valuable if you share a truck and want to understand where materials have been moved to.
Material Transfers - Manual
From the truck stock screen, find the material you want to transfer through scrolling or searching.
Once found, by tapping the three dots in the lower right corner you will open this menu.
Next tap on Transfer Material
There you can choose where to transfer the material(s) to via the Location or Job tabs. Shown is this techs available locations.
Selecting the Jobs tab will allow you to select from assigned jobs from your FSM.
Here we have selected a job:
Next we need to select a Reason for the material movement. In this case we have selected Sold.
Last but not least, we need to input the QTY of material transferred.
Here the tech has entered 2. Now with all fields complete, you can Apply. You will be presented with a 2 materials have been transferred notification.
Material Transfers - Scanning
Click green barcode circle at the bottom center.
Scan window opens, ready to scan.
Center the barcode of the item in the screen to scan.
Once scan you will be presented with the material information and the following options.
Click Transfer.
From this screen, start by selecting the quantity you are transferring.
Next select either the “location” or “jobs” tab. Here we are choosing to transfer these materials to a job
Now click into the drop down menu to pull up either your “locations” or “jobs”
Select your “job” or “location”
Tap “Confirm”
Now select the reason why you are transferring.
- For sending material to a job “sold” is typically the reason.
- For sending material to another location “replenished” “stocktake” or “return”
With all fields complete, select transfer at the bottom of the screen. You will receive a confirmation message verifying that the information is correct.
Tap transfer to confirm. The confirmation message will flash on your screen and disappear within seconds:
Material Transfers - Scanning to list
To scan multiple materials and add them to a list, first:
Tap open scanner.
Center the barcode in the screen to scan.
Tap on the “Add to List” option.
You will now return to your scan screen. Here you will notice the list icon in the top right corner will have a red bubble with the number of materials on your list.
Proceed to scan your next material and continue to add to your list.
Once done, tapping on the list icon, or the Go to list, on the right side, will allow you to proceed
After tapping on the list icon, you will be shown all the materials you have scanned.
Here you can remove any of them by tapping on the red minus sign adjacent to their name.
Selecting transfer will bring you to the “Transfer materials screen.
Begin by selecting the location to transfer to.
Next enter the quantities you are transferring.
Choose between “location” or “job” to then select the destination you are transferring the materials to.
Then tap the drop down menu
Select your reason, this will then populate for all items in your list
Scroll through all materials on the screen to ensure all your information is correct.
When satisfied, tap “Confirm transfer”
After pressing confirm, you will receive a confirmation message verifying that the information is correct.
Fast Scan Widget
To speed up your efficiency, you can activate the fast scan widget.
Step by step:
Tap and hold on the Ply app.
Now select Widgets
Tapping the fast scan widget will bring you right to the scanner.
The default setting is automatic mode, to scan a barcode just hover over a barcode. Tapping the “A” at the top of the screen will disable automatic scanning.
In manual mode, you will need to tap Scan Item or enter the barcode manually.
