Step 1: Enter Your Company's Legal Information
Go to Settings > Company Billing > Payments
Enter your info under the Payment Information tab.
Click Save
Important: Once saved, this information cannot be edited from this screen. If you need to make changes later, contact support.
Step 2: Link Your Bank Account
You must add at least one bank account before you can process payments.
Option A: Connect with Plaid (Instant - Recommended)
Best for: Instant verification if your bank supports it
Go to Settings > Company Billing > Payments > Bank Accounts
Click Connect with Plaid
Select your bank and log in with your credentials
Select the account you want to use for payments
Verification is instant
Supported: Most major banks and many community banks. If your bank isn't supported, you'll be directed to manual entry.
Option B: Manual Entry (Micro Deposit)
Best for: Community banks or if Plaid isn't available for your bank
Go to Settings > Company Billing > Payments > Bank Accounts
Click Add Bank Account Manually
Enter:
Account number
Routing number
Account holder name
Click Save
Ply will deposit two small transactions (a few cents each) to verify the account
Check your bank statement for these amounts and enter them in Ply
Verification takes 2-3 business days
Step 3: Set Up Multiple Bank Accounts (Optional)
You can link multiple bank accounts if you have:
Different operating accounts
Separate business units
Different locations with their own accounts
To add another account, repeat Step 2 above. You can switch between accounts when making payments.
Step 4: Set Up Payment Approval Rules (Optional)
If you want multiple people to approve payments before they're sent, you can create approval workflows.
Create Approval Levels by Amount
Go to Settings > Company Billing > Payments > Payment Approvals
Click Add Approval Step
For each step, configure:
Amount threshold (e.g., payments up to $70,000)
Who approves (assign by role)
How it works:
Payments under/over that amount require ALL approval steps, in order
All approvers must approve before the payment is sent
Example:
Step 1: Managers can approve up to $50,000
Step 2: Senior managers can approve up to $100,000
Step 3: Directors can approve any amount
Even if a payment is under $50,000 (and the manager can approve it), it still needs approval from all three levels.
What's Next?
Once your company is set up, you're ready to:
Set up suppliers for payments
Configure payment terms
Optionally set up payment roles for spending controls
