Integrating HouseCall Pro to Ply for the First Time!

In this guide, you'll learn how to easily connect your HouseCall Pro account with Ply. With this integration, you can sync your catalog, suppliers, jobs, and more directly within the platform.

How to Integrate HouseCall Pro with Ply

Key Features of the HouseCall Pro Integration

Feature

What It Does

Seamless Job Sync

Jobs created in HouseCall Pro automatically sync to Ply, including the technician(s) assigned.

Automatic Material Sync to Ply Catalog

Materials added to jobs in HouseCall Pro are automatically created in the Ply catalog.

Effortless User Sync

Technicians from HouseCall Pro are automatically registered in Ply once the integration is set up, no manual entry needed.

Optional Sync of Materials to Invoices

Choose whether materials sync to the invoice in HouseCall Pro (see below).

Optional Sync of Items to the FSM Invoice

With this optional feature, you control whether materials sync to the invoice in HouseCall Pro.

  • Sync items to the invoice: you can enable or disable it based on your preferences and business needs.

  • If you want this material added to HCP - set this as checked.

💡This gives you full control over when and how materials are synced to the invoice, so you can keep your invoicing process streamlined and customized to your workflow.

"Response Location" in Ply

A Response Location is the default stock location assigned to a technician or user. When a job syncs from HouseCall Pro and materials are added to the invoice, Ply uses the assigned Response Location to know where to pull those materials from.

When technicians add materials in HCP, those materials sync into Ply. If the

Response Location is set correctly:

  • Materials are automatically pulled from the correct location (e.g., the tech's truck)

  • If no Response Location is set, materials default to the warehouse

  • If multiple technicians are assigned to a job, Ply uses your Material Sourcing for Multi-Tech Jobs setting to decide where to pull from, see the article Understanding Location Response for Integrations for the full breakdown of those options

How to Set the Response Location in Ply

Check this article for more details: Understanding Location Response for Integrations.

Example

  • Sean is assigned to a job in HCP

  • He adds a water heater to the invoice

  • In Ply, Sean's Response Location is set to "Sean's Truck"

  • When the job syncs, Ply deducts the water heater from Sean's Truck

Common Issues to Avoid

  • No Response Location set → Materials may pull from the default warehouse instead of the tech's truck

  • Multiple techs assigned → Which location gets used depends on your Material Sourcing for Multi-Tech Jobs setting worth confirming that's configured the way you expect
